Yoghurt dip

This yoghurt dip goes very well with crisp spicy foods, such as onion bhaji or courgette fritters.

This is very simple to make. Fresh mint is better is it is available, but the recipe works well with dried mint.

The turmeric is there for colour rather than flavor. It will stain anything it touches, so you might want to leave it out if you are serving this to small children (or, for that matter, clumsy adults).

Ingredients

200ml plain yoghurt
tsp dried mint, or small handful of fresh mint leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric
salt to taste

Method

  1. Finely chop the mint (if using fresh)

  2. Mix all ingredients. Chill until required.

It is best to make this dip an hour or so ahead of time, so that the mint flavour can infuse.

This recipe is for 4 servings.
